Community Guidelines / T.O.S.

Welcome to Family Life! By your completion of the registration process and your use of Family Life you are agreeing to the Terms Of Service ("TOS") outlined below. They may be amended at anytime, and by viewing and posting to our boards, you agree to abide by the current TOS.

In an effort to provide a loving, supportive environment for all users, we have instated the following rules and restrictions. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to click the Report to moderator button or PM an Administrator or Moderator. You may also contact us by e-mail at

1. Keep your posts family-oriented and rated “PG”
Do NOT post offensive language, implied offensive language (ex. SH*T is not allowed), indecent photos or media, abusive comments, illegal content, or derogatory racial or religious comments.

2. Respect others.
We are a support community of unique adults with a wide range of views and opinions. We want to lift up our differences – not bring each other down. You may not post simply to stir the pot. Personal attacks, disruptive posts and all forms of disrespect are not allowed. Please stick to the topic and make all efforts to post in appropriate forums.

3. Be yourself.
Members are permitted to have only one account. You may not impersonate the identity of others. You may not register multiple accounts. You may not register an account with the intent to cause drama. Additionally, those members who register then spam only in order to access private forums may have their accounts closed at the Administrations discretion.  All pictures and posts must be your own original work – you may not post copyrighted material. You may post links to helpful articles or informational sites. Keep your password secure. You will be responsible for all activities that occur under your unique user name and password.

4. Use good judgment.
This is a public forum, and an excellent medium to share wisdom, stories, images, and advice. Remember, this is a public forum – be careful what you post.  Don’t post your last name, home address, license plate number, credit card number, or other information that should remain private. Don’t post private information or photos of others without permission.  All posts will be saved, and it is your responsibility to remove personal information should you decide to delete your account.

5. Advertise somewhere else.
Family Life is to be used for your personal use only. You may not post spam or bulk messages, referral programs, solicitations for money, charitable causes, or other products. You may not post links or recruit other members to other forums. Member-generated advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are not permitted and may result in restricted access to our site.  *With reference to charitable causes this isn't cast in stone so please PM admin for permission before posting*

6. Use at your own risk.
While we try to provide educational, updated, and informative information, all content on Family Life is intended for entertainment/informative purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.  The content is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We are not liable for breeches in security. We are not liable for advice offered on the site. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of Family Life or any entity associated with Family Life.


In order to provide a loving, supportive environment for our users, Family Life reserves the right to remove or edit any post that violate our rules, regulations, and/or terms of service. We also we reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever.

Please realize that it may take us some time to manually remove or edit a particular message. By participating in the forums you acknowledge that you may come across material that you find offensive, inaccurate, or misleading. Family Life disclaims any responsibility for any such material and all content posted on its web site by third parties. Family Life has no responsibility for such content. We do not and cannot review all of the messages posted, we are merely providing access to all types of information as a service to you.

By posting content and images to our site, you have granted Family Life unrestricted use of that material including your member name and general location. We reserve the right to modify, publish, reproduce, and distribute materials posted for internal and commercial use within the site itself. We will not redistribute personal information.

We value your privacy, but we also reserve the right to reveal whatever information we know about you in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.

In certain forums, Family Life may post additional forum rules or offer additional guidance. Such guidelines serve as an amendment to the TOS. Awareness of these forum rules and adherence to admin communication is the responsibility of the user. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in restricted access to Family Life features.

Family Life reserves the right to remove a post which does not relate to the topic being discussed or is in violation of the TOS.  Family Life also reserves the right to prohibit or delete discussions that are thought to violate applicable law or that may be harmful to other members, the rights of Family Life or others. That said, Family Life does not have the practical ability to restrict conduct or communications that might violate these Guidelines or the Terms of Service prior to transmission on AOL or the Web, nor can we ensure prompt removal of offending discussion forum posts.

The Family Life Community is one of support, and we will not tolerate abuse of staff or members. Family Life reserves the right to suspend / remove your membership should you repeatedly violate the Community Guidelines / Terms of Service. Depending on the situation an account may be closed immediately or a member may receive a warning message via PM first.  Members will receive two warnings in the form of a Private Message (PM) from an Administrator. At the time of the third offense, a final PM will be sent and the member will be banned.
